Useful Holiday Information
All
Just Skiing prices are quoted in pounds sterling for accommodation only. The
hotel prices are based on two sharing a room. Supplements or reductions are
applicable for single occupancy, third or fourth person sharing, suites and
family rooms. Self catering accommodation is priced per apartment. Flight
inclusive and tailor made holidays are available. Please call our Reservations
Team on 01202 479988 or email for a quotation to suit your requirements to
include flights, airports transfers or car hire and your choice of
accommodation. We can also include insurance, ski pass, ski school and ski
hire.
All accommodation is graded under the local Italian system, which differs from
that of the UK. Hotels can vary within the same star rating. Further
information is available from our Reservation Team. Where Just Skiing has
marked accommodation as 'exclusive', this means that as far as we are aware, it
is not available through any other UK tour operator at the time of the 2008/9
website going live.
To help you choose the accommodation that suits your requirements for your
holiday, we have introduced our own Just Skiing rating system indicated by the
circular stamp on each accommodation page with a Peak Rating icon with number
of mountain peaks awarded to that hotel or residence. This may or may not vary
from the official Italian star rating depending on our opinion of how many
peaks we think the accommodation should be awarded. Where the peak rating is
lower, it may be a simple matter of the location of the hotel or lack of
facilities. Please call our Reservations Team for more details on 01202
479988 or email
Your ticket wallet will be sent out in the post 3 weeks prior to travel. Please
ensure that you take your Just Skiing Ticket Wallet with you on holiday
as it contains your flight tickets or confirmation number, accommodation, car
hire or transfer vouchers as well as your ski school, ski pass and equipment
hire vouchers (where applicable), plus lots of useful information. Please check
all your documents in the wallet when you receive it to ensure that tickets,
names, dates and times are all correct and inform us of any necessary
alterations as soon as possible by telephone on 01202 489046.

Just Sardinia has linked with Holiday Extras, the UK's leading supplier of
airport hotels, car parking and airport lounges, which can all be booked
online. Click here for more information.
Your baggage allowance and in some cases, baggage size will vary with each
airline carrier. Low cost carriers generally allow 15/20kg of luggage per
person (some charge for hold luggage and ski equipment) and charter and
schedule airlines generally allow 20kg. Infants do not have any baggage
allowance. Baggage in excess of the carriers allowance may not be carried or
will be subject to an excess charge. Bulky items such as pushchairs,
wheelchairs and snowboards or skis etc may be carried, but you are advised to
check with your airline direct prior to travelling. An excess charge is applied
for snow sport equipment and varies depending on your carrier. In most cases,
carriage of snow sport equipment must be pre-booked and pre-paid with the
airline. Please call our Reservations Team on 01202 479988 for
further information.
Flights, transfers and car hire are not included in the price of your
holiday but can be booked separately (click
here for Travel Options). Travel times will vary depending on
your destination airport, traffic and weather conditions. If travelling on the
motorway you will have to pay motorway tolls, which can be paid using a credit
card or local currency. For those travelling from Geneva, you will also have to
pay a toll for using the Mont Blanc Tunnel.
Some
featured hotel facilities might not be available or fully operational in the
early or late part of the season depending on the number of guests at the hotel
or weather conditions. Accommodation facilities are subject to change at the
management's discretion. We will endeavour to inform you as soon as possible of
any changes that may effect your holiday, prior to your departure. Please note:
Just Skiing endeavour to get the descriptions accurate by visiting the
accommodation in April 2008. However, alterations to the accommodation after
the website goes live cannot be accountable by Just Skiing.

If you have a specific request for your holiday, we will do our best to honour
this. However, A REQUEST IS NOT NECESSARILY GUARANTEED
and is subject to availability at the time of arrival.
Shopping - Supermarkets in Italy are generally open from 9am to
12.30pm and from 4pm to 7pm Monday to Saturday. Remember that shops may be
closed between 12.30pm and 4pm. Depending on the time of year some supermarkets
may be closed on Sunday. Please bear this in mind depending on your arrival
time at your resort. There is a wide range of products available in the
supermarkets but remember it is Italy, not the UK!
Accommodation - Although the self catering accommodation will have
a minimum of a fridge, sink, storage, crockery and utensils, there will not
always be a kettles, toaster, microwave or oven. We suggest that you take with
you some basic items such as a tea towel, dishcloth, salt and pepper, washing
up liquid and possibly a travel kettle.
Cleaning & Linen - The number of times your apartment will
be cleaned and the number of times that the linen and towels will be changed is
stated on each individual accommodation page. If you require further cleaning
or linen and towels, this can be arranged for an extra charge. Please discuss
this with our Reservations Team before your holiday.
Courmayeur and La Thuile: Just Skiing Resort Staff have been
chosen for their wealth of local knowledge and customer service expertise. In
Courmayeur, our Rep will be found at Ski In (the Ski Hire Shop) at Plan
Checrouit at the top of the cable car from the town on the first day of your
holiday and will help you and your family/party with ski hire and ski school.
Please remember to bring your ski vouchers with you.
Our Rep in Courmayeur and La Thuile will be available via mobile phone during
your holiday and happy to recommend excursions, activities, restaurants and
places to visit depending on your own requirements and interests, and of course
sort out any problems if they arise. If you wish to meet our Rep in the town or
at your accommodation, please telephone them on the telephone number that will
be given to you in your ticket wallet. There will also be an Emergency
Telephone Number in case of need.
NB: THERE WILL BE NO JUST SKIING REPRESENTATIVE TO MEET YOU AT ANY OF THE
AIRPORTS.

In your ticket wallet you will receive the Just Skiing emergency telephone
number for your use in case of need. We also detail in our local information in
your ticket wallet, emergency numbers for police, fire, ambulance and road
assistance.
The currency used in Italy is Euros. Banks are generally open between 8.30am -
1.30pm and 2.30 - 3.30pm Monday to Friday. There are a number of Bancomat (cashpoint) machines available outside banks, which can be used with your UK cashpoint card and usual pin number with instructions available in English. Please
note that hotels do not always change travellers cheques but do accept most
major credit cards.
In the unlikely event of dissatisfaction with an element of your holiday, we
would stress to you to let our Representative and the accommodation provider
know about it straight away so that we can rectify the situation as soon as
possible. It is much better to solve any issues during your holiday than to
wait until your return home. Please also refer to 'Complaints' in our
Terms and Conditions.
Your well being whilst on holiday is of prime importance to us and we will do
our best to ensure your holiday is safe and trouble free by working with our
accommodation and service providers. It is, however, important to remember that
standards abroad are not always the same as those we would expect at home and
so we do ask you to take care while you are away. We strongly urge you to follow
the safety guidelines detailed in our documentation plus any extra information
afforded by individual service providers.
We strongly recommend that you and all the members of your travelling party are
adequately insured with travel and medical cover as soon as you book your
holiday. Policies may be organised through Just Skiing in
conjunction with Holiday Extras by clicking here.
We also recommend that you have a European Health Insurance Card for reduced
cost medical treatment in Europe that can be obtained via the Post Office in
the UK or
www.dh.gov.uk/travellers
