The four star Hotel Miramonte (formally the Hotel Dora) is under new management and is a striking yellow building situated in a small piazza on the right as you drive into La Thuile, enjoying views over the River Dora below and the mountain's in the surrounding area. The hotel is near the shops, cafés and restaurants of the old town yet the ski lift and ski hire shop is 15 minutes walk away.

Accommodation
The hotel, newly refurbished at the end of 2006, has 40 rooms arranged over 4 floors serviced by a lift. The accommodation is modern and neutral with wood or carpeted flooring. The bedrooms can either be twin or double and there are four suites that can sleep up to 5/6. All rooms have modern en suite shower room, telephone, safe, minibar, plasma satellite TV, individual heating control, internet access, hairdryer and some rooms have a balcony.

Facilities
The restaurant is on the ground floor and although open-plan, offers two different styles of dining experience. As you walk in to the restaurant, the first section has wooden flooring but with beautiful low curved ceilings and stone pillars providing a romantic atmosphere for a candlelit dinner. Walking through to the second section, where breakfast is served, there are wooden floors, walls and ceilings with windows enjoying views over the River Dora.

There is a TV lounge with a large LCD TV, DVD player and piano. The bar is in an elevated position with windows all around to enjoy the views over the town and mountains beyond and has an outside seating terrace.

The Hotel Miramonte's 'piece di resistance' is the Spa with a large jacuzzi pool, Turkish bath, sauna, hydromassage shower and a relax area (extra cost).

Perfect for a relaxing ski holiday, the Hotel Miramonte has been recently refurbished to offer a high standard of accommodation in a welcoming atmosphere.

The restaurant offers a variety of international dishes but with local dishes being a speciality and an impeccable service from the hotel staff. The spa facilities are among the best in La Thuile therefore I would highly recommend this hotel for those wishing to relaxing after skiing.
